A variety of surface techniques will be shown including sgraffitto, slip inlay, paper stencils, wax and shellac resist and other decorative approaches as time will allow. By taking notes on the lectures and practicing the techniques, by the end of the course you will have compiled a guidebook that you can build on during your own studio practice. We will work mostly with greenware, but if time allows we will try some glazing techniques as well.
